'Satyabhama', starring Kajal Aggarwal in the lead, is produced by Bobby Tikka and Srinivas Rao Takkalapelly under the banner of Aurum Arts. The crime thriller is directed by Suman Chikkala. Ahead of the film's release in theatres on June 7, the producer duo spoke with the media to talk about the major highlights in store.
They talk about why the film is going to be special. "We are undecided on whether this film will have a sequel or not," they added.
Sashikiran Tikka's brother Bobby Tikka is one of the producers. This is our debut movie on Aurum Arts. Making content films with new talents is our main aim. This is Suman's maiden venture as a filmmaker. Sashi has previously directed 'Major' and 'Goodachari'. We didn't collaborate on those projects but our working relationship has been there with him. It's after the release of 'Major' that we decided to launch this banner. I come with prior experience in distribution. So, it helped.
The story of this film is based on a true incident two decades ago in London. In terms of pacing, it is like 'Goodachari'. Sashikiran has penned the screenplay. His style has always been to go prepared to actors fully prepared with a tight script. Earlier, my plan was to produce some other film. After listening to 'Satyabhama', I felt that it has more calibre than even 'Goodachari'. I had no second thoughts and immediately gave a go-ahead.
The feedback to the Trailer has been great. Many asked us why we chose a female-centric subject as our first production venture. Although so many female-centric movies have been made, the only one people instantly recall is 'Kartavyam'. In 'Satyabhama', too, Kajal's domination will be from start to end. There is no male saviour in the film. Although this is heroine-oriented, there is so much heroism in the script.
Actor Naveen Chandra has done a lot of films but he feels this one is special. His character in the film is rooted in his persona. Kajal is outstanding. She has become like an extended family member. She feels at home with our banner. She loved the story, our working style, and the execution.
No project is without hiccups. We faced roadblocks but our resolve kept us going. We didn't have money issues in mind at all. We didn't mind spending whatever we could. There were no budget constraints. There is a message for women regarding the use of safety apps in the film. We need women to download those apps supported by the police department. We have planned an early screening for women tomorrow. 'Satyabhama' is a film with social responsibility. Sri Charan Pakala's music is inspired. A motivational song will be loved by the audience.
We will continue to collaborate with Sashikiran in the future whenever he has something for us. We will do films with others, too. We will support emerging talents.
Mythri Movie Makers is releasing our movie in Nizam. In Andhra Pradesh, Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainments is doing the honours. We are looking at a solid Overseas release as well. Besides firming up theatrical deals, we have also locked a streaming partner.
