Katha Press Meet

Gunnam Gangaraju’s latest film with Genelia in lead role is titled as ‘Katha’. Srinivas is directing this romantic thriller which was launched today at SOS Children’s Village in Hyderabad. The story of ‘Katha’ will be made under Hill station backdrop. The major part of the film will be picturised at Araku. Andrew is the cinematographer. Gangaraju besides producing the film as writes the dialogues for this film. Katha is planned for Dussera release. Therefore a press meet was arranged.

Speaking at the press conference Gunnam Gangaraju said, “While we were looking forward for a good script after ‘Amma Cheppindi’, Srinivas narrated the story with a fresh concept. The film is a romantic thriller and is sure to be yet another landmark in Genelia’s film career”.

Director Srinivas thanked Gangaraju for trusting him and giving him this wonderful opportunity. He said that he had the experience of assisting Kodi Ramakrishna for films like Navvutu Brathakali Ra, Trinetrudu etc.

“For the first time I’m playing the teacher’s role. The script is exciting and definitely this is a new type of film for me”, said Genelia.

Arun Kumar, who is debuting as hero and is also pairing with Genelia said that he is playing the story writer in ‘Katha’. This apart he is also doing the lead role in the remake of ‘Happy Days’ in Hindi.

‘Katha being the thriller film has lot of scope for background music. There are altogether 4 songs in the film. I already worked for four TV serials produced by Gunnam Gangaraju", said Katha music director SK Balachandran.

Other important cast includes Prakash Raj, Raghubabu and Shafi.
