Bhumika and her husband Bharat Thakur held a programme called ‘Mayanagar.com Talent Hunt’ to encourage new talent in various fields in the film industry. This programme was inaugurated by Dr Dasari Narayana Rao on Saturday, the 11th of July at Hyderabad.
On the occasion Dasari Narayana Rao said, “I really appreciate Bhumika and her husband for their efforts to encourage the new talent as there is a need for it for the film industry in the present situation. Actually I started the talent hunt long ago that was in 1974 when I went in search of new artists for the film ‘Swargam Narakam’. So far I’ve introduced around 200 people to the film industry and even now I’m planning to produce five films by giving opportunity to new talent. Hence I am taking the help of this talent hunt. I also have plans to establish a film institute at par with Pune Film Institute.”
“When I started my career 10 years ago, we did not have these many opportunities. I got a small ad film after I went through many screen tests. But now we are providing good opportunities for the new talent without straining themselves running one production office to another”, informed Bhumika.
Bharat Thakur while speaking, “In order to maintain a close association with the film industry we have started a weekly magazine and also launched the production house under which our first film is ‘Yagam’. We got the idea to start a talent search during the launch of this film.”
‘Mayanagar.com’ editor Prabhu also participated in the programme.
