Sri Venkateswara Creations ‘Brindavanam’ starring NTR, Kajal, Samantha, Prakash Raj, Kota Srinivas Rao, Srihari, etc., under the direction of Vamsi Paidipally with Dil Raju as producer is running successfully in theaters across Andhra Pradesh. The Triple Platinum Disc function was held on November 7th at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad. This function was graced by NTR, Prakash Raj, Kota Srinivas Rao, SS Rajamouli, VV Vinayak, Dil Raju, Vamsi Paidipally, Thaman, Chota K Naidu, Sirish, Lakshman, Raghu Babu, Kajal, Ahuti Prasad, etc.
VV Vinayak presented the triple platinum discs to the technicians. Later while speaking VV Vinayak said, “This banner was started with my film ‘Dil’. Therefore I feel very happy whenever every film is made under this banner. Everyone associated with Vamsi prayed for the film’s success. I specially wanted to thank the entire team including Srihari, Prakash Raj and the heroines for being part of this film. I needn’t have to say anything about Chota K Naidu, who has once again proved his worth in this film. Thaman’s music played a vital role. I wish him a very bright future. The name Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao itself has a power. What can I say about one such wonderful actor. And coming to art director Anand Sai, he has created a beautiful place while he was asked to design a simple set. Similarly I thank the dialogue writer Koratala Siva, co-producers Sirish and Lakshman for being part of the success of the film.”
Dil Raju and Rajamouli together presented the triple platinum discs to few artists like Ajay, Hema, Bhavana, etc.
Rajamouli while speaking, “Dil Raju has so much confidence in him that I remember him telling in one function about NTR. He said that if NTR is portrayed as a lover boy with a good story line the audience will certainly accept him. I told the same to Tarak recently. The credit for the success of this film goes completely to Dil Raju and Vamsi Paidipally because their contribution was major than Tarak’s. Vinayak and I have delivered hits with Tarak but we did not do any film that reaches the family audience. That credit has gone to Vamsi. All the technicians worked really hard for this film and thanks to Chota K Naidu for showing NTR more handsome than what he is. Thaman is also lucky to get such big project at his early stage of career. His musical scores are excellent, especially the song ‘Sooride Sooride’. Although Vinay (Vinayak) said that he, I and Tarak will be doing a film together, the actual combination would be if I, Vinay, NTR and Balayya Babu together. We will definitely try to make this combination possible. I congratulate the whole ‘Brindavanam’ team for its success.”
His speech was followed by the presentation of platinum discs to few more cast and crew members.
Later Kota Srinivas Rao said, “Balakrishna could not attend this function because he is currently busy in the shooting of ‘Parama Veera Chakra’. I could sense how much the fans might have enjoyed the film by their reactions here in this function. I appreciate Vamsi for coming up with one such good story. I’m very lucky to get the role I did in this film because I’ve never done one such best role in the recent past. So I was a little doubtful whether Prakash Raj was aware that I’m doing this role. I did many villain roles but did very few roles that made the audience cry. This film has given me the feel that I was living with my family. Both Srihari and Prakash Raj were at their best even though their characters had different shades. Both of them are clean and evergreen actors. Raghu Babu and Ahuti Prasad made the audience cry in the climax scene. Though I worked with many cameramen, I realized that Chota does his work with complete dedication. He is a selfless man who thinks professionally while shooting the film. ‘Brindavanam’ is like a complete Andhra meal. I really do not know what to speak about NTR, everyone spoke about him. So I’ve no words left for him.”
Speaking further he added, “Rajamouli took the Telugu Cinema to international level and not to speak of VV Vinayak. In general there is a huge craze for NTR’s film and imagine both of them together directing NTR and Balakrishna. Don’t be so greedy, I request both of you to make good films with both of them”, he concluded by making fun of them.
Prakash Raj while speaking, “I predicted the success of ‘Brindavanam’ when I first heard the story from director Vamsi. The entire credit for the success of this film goes to him only. If a director delivers a flop film nobody will have faith in him. At that juncture he proved his worth through this film. I consider Dil Raju’s production house as my own banner. Their main aim is to make good family oriented films. I normally listen to all stories that are made under Dil Raju’s production. In this line when Vamsi had told me that he is considering Kota Srinivas Rao for that particular role, I said to him that Kota is the apt choice for that role. Of late the people are saying that I’m a great actor, but it will take some years to reach your level (he said this addressing Kota). Kota garu said that he did a very good role after a very long time. But all the roles that he played so far are good ones. May be the films are not that popular. When I watched the film ‘Satruvu’ at Bangalore I just went mad at his performance. I was amazed to see his voice modulation while dubbing for ‘Brindavanam’. Whatever may be his problems in his personal life, he never expresses it on the sets.”
Further adding to his speech he said, “My co-brother Srihari, Brahmaji, Raghu Babu and all the artists in the film have done their best. Such films can be made only with the co-operation of all the artists. Now to speak a few words about Tarak, I worked with many stars in five languages but while working with Tarak I felt that I’m working with an artist only. He has the urge to prove himself as a good actor. I liked that attitude in him. To do a film with a star like Tarak the director and producer should hold lot of responsibilities. So with your love and support is always there for Tarak and it is his responsibility to maintain that, which is why the film was delayed a bit in releasing. So request you all not to put pressure on the makers as well as the hero at such situations. Tarak is an actor who will remain in the industry for many years. He will not stop and will keep going on whatever may be the distance, irrespective of hits or flops.”
Music director Thaman expressed his happiness for the success of the film and thanked his family, especially his mother for making him a music director. In his speech he said, “I played keyboard for about 900 films and worked under the experienced music directors like Koti garu, Mani Sharma garu and Keeravani garu. I thank my brother Vamsi for giving me this wonderful opportunity and I also thank Chota K Naidu for his encouragement. I thank Dil Raju garu, NTR garu for giving me this opportunity and I also thank the audience for making the music as well as the film a grand success.”
Director Vamsi while speaking, “I remember NTR telling on the same dais that he is doing a new experiment and that he needs your (fans) support and you (fans) have encouraged him by giving your (fans) support. One who has a star image really needs guts to attempt such films. I thank one and all for making his belief a grand success. The success of this film is due to the grand mothers and grand fathers who had come all the way to theaters to watch this film. Many reviews gave ‘Brindavanam’ their verdict as not a great film. I agree that it’s not a great film, but certainly it’s a Telugu film and a good film. I’m very proud to be the director of one such film. I thank my entire team right from the light boy to my producer. This is your success, our success and a Telugu film’s success.”
Producer Dil Raju said, “My association with NTR started from the time of ‘Aadi’ film. The success of this film is a star like NTR acting in it. When I entered into films I learnt how the script would be from Vinayak. I felt bad for not releasing the film as per the schedule date. The reason being we have certain business calculations and we are also aware of the pressure that NTR got from you (fans) all. Due to lot of mass film releases at that time, we decided to release this film a bit late. Another problem we have faced was piracy. On the 3rd day of the film’s release I was literally on tears when I came to know that the pirated CDs were available in the market. We work hard for about two years to make a film and the moment we release the film the CDs are sold on the roads. Therefore I request the public to stop watching films through pirated CDs. Then the piracy will automatically get abandoned.”
Lastly NTR said, “I’m very lucky to be born as a grandson to Late Nataratna Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao garu and earn so much of love and affection from you all. Without you Nandamuri family cannot exist. Your wish to see me in lover boy role has come true in the form of ‘Brindavanam’. This movie has proved that NTR can do lover boy roles also, besides chopping heads with swords. I thank you all for making it the biggest success in my career. I don’t deserve to talk about Kota garu and Prakash Raj garu. Though Kota said that he did a very good role after a long gap, as far as I know he did all good roles so far in his career, may be some of his films did not click. Prakash Raj annaya, who won 5 national awards says that he saw a good actor in me. That is the biggest compliment for me. Our Amar Akbar Anthonys are Dil Raju-Sirish-Lakshman put in lot of efforts to make this film. Many have questioned me why I decided to work with a flop director. Vamsi is not actually a flop director, he only failed in his first experiment. Today I’m hapy to see a successful Vamsi. Thaman welcomed the success through his music in the audio function. Likewise I’m grateful to dialogue writer Koratala Siva, art director Anand Sai, Chota K Naidu and all the technicians. As Dil Raju said you all should come forward to eradicate the piracy.”
In a moment NTR went down the dais and asked Rajamouli and Vinayak when they are going to do films with Balayya. “I don’t want you to do films with me, I want to know when you are going to do a film with Balayya. I want both of you to do two good films each with Balayya”, he said while they too agreed to do so. NTR concluded his speech and the function by requesting the public to go their homes safely due to cyclone. He also said that Nandamuri fans will always be the first to offer their services for the people.
All other guests also expressed their happiness for the success of the film. Udaya Bhanu played the host of the function.
