Sri Ramarajyam 50 Days Function

Nandamuri Balakrishna, Nayantara, Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Srikanth starrer ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ which was directed by Baapu and produced by Yalamanchili Saibabu has successfully completed 50 days of screening. On this eve a grand function was held at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad. This grand event was attended by Darsakaratna Dasari Narayana Rao, D Ramanaidu, K Raghavendra Rao, Nandamuri Balakrishna, K Baapu, S P Balasubrahmaniam, K Vishwanath, Srikanth, Nayantara, Murali Mohan, Krishnam Raju, Edidha Nageswara Rao, Sameer, Thanikella Bharani, Ilayaraja and the entire unit of ‘Sri Ramarajyam’.

The programme started off with the shields presentation to exhibitors and distributors by D Ramanaidu and K Raghavendra Rao followed by Dasari Narayana Rao presenting the shields to the unit members.

Dasari Narayana Rao while speaking, “As long as I was watching ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ I felt like my heart and soul were with Sri Rama. Baapu, Ramana and Saibabu together made a film that brought pride to all Telugu people. I wish this film will be successfully screened for one full year and celebrate in a bigger manner than just 50 days. Saibabu took great risk and produced a wonderful film. It doesn’t matter how many crores this film will earn him, it’s important to note how many lakhs of people are watching this film. When Baapu decided to do this film, I’ve told him that it’s only Balakrishna who will aptly suit the role of Sri Rama. Nayantara also gave a wonderful performance and she looked very pleasant as Sita. After Anjali Devi, it’s Nayantara who perfectly suited as Sita. Music, songs and sets are all wonderful. I take this opportunity to thank Baapu and Sai Babu for delivering one such beautiful film. Every artist and technician is a wonder to this film.”

SP Balasubrahmaniam said, “I do not understand how to thank Saibabu who got the idea of making one such wonderful film. Mullapudi Venkata Ramana is the real hero for this film because he provided such excellent dialogues to this film. The re-recording work, music and songs are all outstanding. Henceforth it doesn’t matter even if Nayantara quits acting because she played one such remarkable role in her entire career. In case even if she wants to continue acting, she might not get a director like Baapu. One need not wonder if this film wins 10 Oscars. Baapu crafted a film that makes every Telugu person proud. I wish to see many more such films in the near future. ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ is being dubbed in Tamil. I’m giving my voice for Balayya Babu’s role and Sunita is dubbing her voice for Nayantara, who also did in Telugu. I offer my best wishes to every artist and technician who is part of this film.”

Balakrishna said, “We are continuing the trend started by our father. We are always ready to act in films that make our Telugu community proud. Saibabu garu gave me the opportunity to do the role of Sri Rama after he decided to do this film. Venkata Ramana garu’s dialogues are simple wonderful. His dialogues will always be alive even though he is no more between us. All artists and technicians worked very hard. Nayantara’s performance was such that anyone would visualize her as Sita. Jonnavittula’s lyrics and Ilayaraja’s music are aptly suitable to the film and are outstanding. Cameraman Raju captured the entire film colorfully. Sets constructed reminded us of kingdoms during our earlier times. Saibabu garu is the main hero of this film. I whole-heartedly thank Baapu garu and Saibabu garu for giving me such a good opportunity.”

Producer Sai Babu said, “I’m not missing Mullapudi garu today because I feel as if he is watching this grand 50 days function. ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ would not have happened without him. I consider making ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ as Sri Rama’s wish and my parents blessings. From the time we thought of this film everything went on smoothly and quickly. All technicians and artists have put in 100% efforts. I thank Ramoji Film City for their help. I will definitely make yet another film provided Balakrishna and Nayantara give me one more chance. I whole-heartedly thank my entire unit members for making this film a grand success.”
