Gautamiputra Satakarni Announcement

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s much-awaited 100th film’s announcement took place at the capital of AP, Amaravathi on April 8 on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi. Krish Jagarlamudi, who had impressed critics with his recent film ‘Kanche’, is the director.

Speaking on the occasion, Nandamuri Balakrishna said, “I know that audience are eagerly waiting for my 100th film. It is the historic and period drama of ‘Gauthamiputra Satakarni’. It is the film after my 99 milestones and my 40 years’ experience. The story of ‘Gauthamiputra Satakarni’ should be known to Telugu people. He was the monarch of the entire India. I consider myself lucky to playing such a powerful role. Recently I came to know that my father too went through the script for 6 months. But it didn’t happen. Gauthamiputra Satakarni fought for the peace. He stood as an inspiration to many people including Marti Veer Chhatrapati Shivaji. The film will have all elements which the audience will look for in Balakrishna’s film. My father’s blessing are the main reasons for getting the opportunity to me. We found an excellent team. There are nearly 18 crores Telugu people in India. We have good culture. ‘Gauthamiputra Satakarni’ struggled hard to uplift our Telugu language. As of now, script work is going on. I’m sure the film will make India proud. We do our best to take the film to the national level.”
