Actress Megha Chowdhury, who has acted opposite Nawin Vijaya Krishna in 'Oorantha Anukuntunnaaru', has interacted with the media ahead of the release of the movie. This is her second film in Telugu and the beauty is upbeat about it. Excerpts..

How is your role in this movie going to be?
I play a girl named Ghaadi in this movie. It's a traditional, girl-next-door character. She is an independent girl and at the same time, takes care of her family very well. Every girl relates to her.

How was it working with Nawin Vijaya Krishna?
Naveen is a very good human being. He is very composed and maintains his cool in any situation, unlike me who lose cool sometimes on the sets. Though he started out as an editor, he is a very good actor too. After joining the team, he has become a very good friend. I happened to listen to the script of this movie, when was I was in Hyderabad on 31st December, 2017 for another film. I liked it very much and gave my nod. The team has been like a family and I enjoyed working for this movie.

How is 'Oorantha Anukuntunnaru' going to be?
'Oorantha Anukuntunnaru' will be a complete family entertainer. The characters in this movie are very relatable and family audiences will love the movie. Every character is important and my screen time in the film is equal to that of the hero's. Our stories are narrated in parallel. It has been an honour working with senior actors like Kota Srinivasa Rao, Jayasudha, Rao Ramesh and others. They were like friends on the sets. Srinivas Avasarala is not only a good director, he is a very good actor too. He helped me out whenever I had problems with the language.

What's your background?
I was born and brought up in the city of Rasgullas, Kolkata. Rituparno Ghosh was my mentor and I debuted as an actress when I was just 16. Later I moved to Mumbai and worked as an assistant director and casting assistant. I worked as an AD for Shraddha Kapoor's 'Hasina Parkar' and as an casting assistant for 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story'. Bengali film, 'Amar Prem', produced by Eros Entertainment, was my first release. 'Marshal' is my first Telugu film. I am currently acting in a couple of Tamil movies.

How different is your role in 'Oorantha Anukuntunnaru' compared to that in ‘Marshal’?
I played a bold journalist in 'Marshal' and it was a very glamorous role. But in 'Oorantha Anukuntunnaru' I played a very traditional Telugu girl, who is not bold enough to speak out even if she finds out that something is wrong. Family is strength and weakness for Ghaadi. Both are completely different characters.
