Project 511 Young Film Makers Contest Press Meet

A short film contest is being organised by Hyderabad Round Table No. 8. On this occasion, organisers have arranged press meet on Thursday (September 1) at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad. D Suresh Babu, Gemini Kiran, Raj Kandukuri, Subbarao and Rammohan and some others were present at the press meet.

We know that, present municipal schools in villages have no minimum facilities. Due to this, those schools are not able to compete with corporate schools. The members of Hyderabad Round Table No. 8 are trying to provide quality education to the students through Project 511.

Project 511 is an initiative started a decade ago by the Hyderabad Round Table No. 8 Charitable Trust, to provide municipal schools with blackboards, benches, science labs as well as sanitation facilities. I commemoration of their 10th anniversary, Project 511 has adopted 511 more schools this year. It is helping over 2 lakh students from 1022 schools in Hyderabad and Rangareddy.

The members are conducting a short film contest in categories 3 to 10 seconds. D Suresh Babu, Rammohan Rao, Tarun Bhaskar and Avasarala Srinivas ae acting as jury members for the contest. Interested participants can send their entries to mail [email protected]

The last date of receiving entries is September 20, 2016. The entries in the competition will be screened on October 9 at JRC Convention Center. Some prominent people of the film industry and political leaders will grace the event. There is no fees and no language discrimination for the entries. First, second and third winners of the contest will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 50 thousand, Rs. 15 thousand and third prize respectively.

D Suresh Babu, Telugu film producer and a trustee of the board, said, “It’s a small initiative by Project 511 to provide minimum needs for the municipal schools. With this initiative, we can provide quality education to the poor students. If anyone comes up with an amazing script, I will try to provide cameras from our studio.”

Speaking at the press meet, Raj Kandukuri said, “It is really a great initiative. Our Telugu film industry has so many talented directors. I request all of them to participate in this contest.”
