A Fashion Show with a Difference-Biking and Ramp Walking held

  • IT employees prove their mettle in cultural programs too
  • The top leadership of DST IT Services walked on the ramp along with their female colleagues(Models)

Hyderabad, February 07, 2017….. A Fashion Show with a Difference- Biking and Ramp Walking held in city at HICC, Madhapur on Tuesdayevening.

Fourteen DST India IT professionals proved a point that “speed thrills, but kills” through the fashion show, which was held as part of company's 'Town Hall Program'.

In a typical fashion show, models walk the catwalk dressed in the clothing created by the designer. And the collection is showcased. But this fashion had costly Harley Davison bikes, where models drove these wonder machines all over the hall. They made conference hall their road, with newly tailored dresses put on themselves. Models rode on three costliest American Motor Cycles—Harley Davidson bikes to create awarensss on road safety.

Even the top leadership of the DST IT Services walked on the ramp along with their female colleagues.

The models comprised of seven womenDivya, Kushboo Bhagat, Shikha, Lalitha Pujari, KushbooChauraisa, ManjuSree, Bitra and seven men Prashant, MaviReddy Jay, Sai Pavan, Ajay Singh, Vijay Singh. Sai Raj A and Ravindra rode bikes on the ramp and walked too.

Younger generation is so fascinated to high speed bikes, ignore traffic rules. This uncaring attitude not only killing them, but, entire family suffers for their ignorance. There is one death for every 4 minutes in India due to accidents, which can be avoided informed Lokesh, Senior IT Associate of DST India, who conceptualized the show. Our aim is to see that there are no accidents occur. We want to tell people to drive with responsibility. You have no right to kill yourself and others.

There are so many improvements in the safety standards. Still accident occur. No matter how well built the engines are human errors are always possible. Errors at a higher speed are more dangerous than the ones at lowers speeds. This is the message must reach youth, lokesh added.

Normally the purpose of a fashion show is to showcase new collection. But, we are not fashion designers and we don’t have any collections to showcase. All this is done for fun and a purpose. A fashion show of this kind where models drove bikes was never seen. The bikes are very costly. We took a huge risk. None of them are professional bikers nor the models. They have done for fun with a purpose in mind informed Lokesh.

Cultural programs of the DST India have lot of expectations as these are Cultural Programs by IT Professionals for IT Professionals(their colleagues). DST is known for Demonstrating Bonalu Festival on the stage in the past, proving that too care for their culture, tradition. Which again was the brain child of the Lokesh.

The multi-talented Lokesh also sang a song on the occasion – “PehalaNasha”

The function was graced by 1500 associates of the company including ten foreign colleagues.

The entire play was witnessed by DST IT Services President Ian Harris and senior management members Raju, Manjula, Lakshman, Deepak, Manmohan and Srini as well as by 6 foreign dignitaries—Jeff, Chris, Jim, Stan, Rod and Gary

Sharing the toil behind the show, Gavuji Praveen. K, a senior associate of the company said, thought it was done at shortest possible time, everybody excelled. It was possible only because of the wholehearted participation of all associates.

None of us are professionals. There was no external performances except Anuj Gurwara, the famous Tollywood singer of Magadheera fame and Hyderabad’s rock star Bhargavi Pillai

Any work with pleasure is a pleasure for life. A family that plays together is the family stays together. This helps us to go fresh to work the next whole year observed another IT Professional of the company.

Town Hall is the event aims to bring associates together to share the company’s success, applaud achievements, show pride, reflect on the prior year’s memories and above all, have some fun.

The event kicked off with a lamp-lighting ceremony led by Ian Harris, President, DST IT Services and other senior delegates from the US.

The cultural events brought associates together to share their talent in singing and dance. The 1500 plus audience were treated to various performances including a classical dance and additional sequences performed to a mix of Western and Bollywood tunes.
