MAA TV has brought out a programme called ‘Gurthukostunnayi’ on the veteran actor cum Dadasaheb Phalke Awardee Akkineni Nageswara Rao, commemorating sixty years of his contribution to Telugu Film Industry. The programme was telecast as episodes and now the same has been transformed into CDs and released by Moser Baer at Annapurna Studios.
The CD launching programme was attended by Akkineni Nageswara Rao, MAA TV CEO O Sarath Kumar, Chiefs of Moser Baer Company Dhanunjay and Honey. Senior Journalist Vijay Babu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering Akkineni Nageswara Rao said, “I am thankful to MAA TV for reminding me of my past. I am very fortunate that I still remember my past memories. For instance, I got countless number of offers for the drunken roles post ‘Devadasu’ but I did not take those offers because had I accepted those offers people would have stamped me as ‘Thagubothu’ Nageswara Rao. Likewise I faced lot of criticism while I did the film ‘Missamma’. All the details have been recorded in the CD. I thank Moser Baer Company for making my past memories into CD.”
Later Nageswara Rao felicitated MAA TV Raja, Sanjay Kishore and Moser Baer representatives with shawls.
