SodaBottleOpenerWala has organized two day Exhibition cum Sale of Rummi's Thool Patti' by Rummana Khan. The collections exhibited by Shermeen Ahmad and Yumna Shah and the customers are in for a treat of complete shopping experience!
Patti ka kaam is a special type of applique work which dates back from the Mughal period. This work is a delicate form of applique done, with tiny bits of cloth which are cut and deftly shaped into petals, to make flowers, and leaves and then, attached onto fabric by hand stitching and further embellished with ari embroidery plus enhanced with badla or mukaish work, creating magical designs in myriad hues and colours with a sprinkle of glitter.
Rummana Khan's passion to revive the dying craft of patti ka kaam which originated from the bylanes of Aligarh is now done by 600 karigars trained, organized and managed by her in Aligarh. They work as one happy family. These women are trained to ensure a high standard of quality. Rummana's designs are taken from her vast inventory of traditional patterns supplemented by innovation, keeping in mind contemporary trends. It is a committed effort to sustain the legacy of this Mughal art.
