A National Movement And India’s Biggest Women’s Run By Pinkathon with Milind Soman

Fourth Edition of COLORS Pinkathon Hyderabad 2018 – Inspiring Partners Bajaj Electricals Co-Sponsored by Sai Estate Consultants Chembur Pvt Ltd concluded successfully with over 6500 women participants

An initiative by the United Sisters Foundation and promoted by Maximus Mice & Media Solutions, COLORS Pinkathon Hyderabad – Inspiring partners Bajaj Electricals Ltd. was held in the city on Sunday, 11th March 2018 at People’s Plaza grounds.

Visually challenged & hearing-impaired girls, Cancer Sheroes, acid attack victims, Baby-wearing mothers and senior citizens enthusiastically joined in the multi-category run across age group.

Breast feeding zone, green water stations, Tsunamika medals were offered to the participants.

The fourth edition of COLORS Pinkathon Hyderabad 2018 - Inspiring Partners Bajaj Electricals, India’s biggest women’s run concluded successfully with an overwhelming response of over 6500 women participatingfor the VWash plus 3kms, 5kms& 10kmsand 21 kms of the multi-category run held on Sunday, March11, 2018 at the People’s Plaza grounds, Hyderabad. A team of 150visually impaired girls, hearing impaired girls, Cancer Sheroes,Baby-wearing mothers and senior citizens enthusiastically joined the run as well.

COLORS Pinkathon - Empowering Indian Women, India's biggest women’s run to encourage and promote fitness & health among women and create awareness for Breast Cancerand other issues relating to women’s health is supported by United Sisters Foundation and promoted by Maximus MICE & Media Solutions. Super model, actor, Ultraman and Pinkathon founder Milind Soman, Mrs.Sangitha Reddy , Apollo Hospitals and all the eminent dignitaries flagged off the multi-category run of the Fourth Edition ofCOLORS Pinkathon Hyderabad 2018 – Inspiring Partners Bajaj Electricals.

The fitness icon further added, “Fitness is liberating. If a culture of regular exercise and fitness must take root in India, our women need to become aware about the benefits of fitness. They need to be able to get out and run, which doesn't happen enough due to various cultural reasons. We now organize ColorsPinkathon ineight cities. More than 6500 women participated today and ran the VWash Plus 3km, 5km, 10km and 21km distances. They ran in running gear but also in sarees, salwar kameez, hijabs or whatever attire they deemed fit and kept them comfortable. The key is to be active and stay fit as well as get our mind to push our bodies beyond the comfort zone.Spirit of Pinkathon run is a city to city run taken up by Pinkathon ambassadors to spread the message that ‘If I can, anyone can.’ Similar such runs have been organised in the past from Mumbai to Goa, Bangalore to Chennai, Jaipur to Delhi and Mumbai to Pune. These three women have trained hard, over last two months and tested their physical and mental capabilities along with endurance. Half the challenge is already won with so much of preparation underway. I am indeed proud of them as for the first time Poonam, Devyani & Vaishali have run such a long distance of 280 kms over 5 days, away from their families and other commitments. I was pacing them throughout the run.”

The various Pinkathon mascots ofVWash Plus 3Km, 5Km and 10 Km categoriessuccessfully completed their respective runs yet again spreading the message that women can overcome any physical, mental and emotional issues if they focus on their life and take up their health and fitness seriously. Age, disabilities, illnesses or for that matter even clothes are not a deterrent anymore. With the Pinkathon's one of a kind initiative, every single finisher of ColorsPinkathon Hyderabad 2018- Inspiring Partners Bajaj Electricalsreceived a beautiful Tsunamika medal, upcycled bag, free gynaec consultation from thehealthcare partner Apollo hospitals and a free mammogram if the participant is above 45yrs of age. The benefit is also transferrable.There were green water stations set up along the route as well as a breast-feeding zone in the holding area for baby wearing mothers.

COLORS Pinkathon Hyderabad received huge response from corporate sponsors like Colors, Bajaj Electricals, VWash Plus, Green Park Hotel , Marigold Hotel, Reebok, Enerzal, Apollo Foundation, Red FM, Bisleri. The focus of India’s biggest women’s only running event, is to encourage an active lifestyle and overall fitness amongst women, while creating a much-needed awareness about breast cancer and bone health and encourage thousands of new or first-timer women to take up running.All proceeds raised from the event will be used for the expenses incurred in organizing and marketing the event, and by the Women's Cancer Initiative in its fight against breast cancer.
