In Māori Mythology Tāne is the God of Forest and birds. In New Zealand forests provided the Māori with rich Inspiration for sayings and expressions as well as the means of life. . In Māori tradition, Tāne is the originator of human life and the world as we know it. He is given various names in accordance with the different roles he has played in local legends. Being the God of forest and birds Tāne is also known to be the creator of woman. It is said that Tāne fashioned from clay the body of a woman and breathed life into her nostrils.

ELEGANT, EMPOWERED, ENCHANTING AND ETHEREAL, the Tāne collection emphasises on the appreciation of the natural world in its purest form. The textures, colours of leaves, birds, rock has been creatively used. The most important part of getting natures inspiration is not just to view it, but to pay more attention and incorporate the elements into the design aspect.

Art Nouveau appeared around the turn of the 20th century. Art Nouveau was a design movement that began in Europe around 1890. It was in part a response to styles popular earlier in the 19th century, like Neoclassicism, that heavily referenced historical styles.

Art Nouveau is characterized by whiplash curves and motifs inspired by nature, however our collection is inspired more by its vital forces along with its prettiness.

We have creatively tried to imbibe the raw form of nature, the fabrics used to create the collection has been hand woven by the weavers.

We have used pure chanderi silk for the garments. Karigars have handcrafted the beautiful birds and wild flower motifs. We have used alot of zardozi and hand embroidery along with metallic sequences with Nakshi and Aari for the same. The collection showcases the new age woman in power with nature and its beauties.

ABOUT- SUMRIDHI GANERIWAL

Endymion - a poem by John Keats starts with the line ‘A thing of beauty is a joy forever ‘. This is one line that every designer and every customer abides by – an unspoken rule of sorts.

For me designing is a passion. The process of designing is so endless and yet so livening. Its nice to break free from the monotony and let creative juices flow to create something so extraordinary and unique – something worth cherishing for time immortal.

I kick started my education, specializing in Commerce. Although I enjoyed it I found my spark in designing. After completeing graduation my sister Shradha Ganeriwala started ‘Kiara’. Kiara is a chain of intricately designed jewelry that is supplied to various Multi - Designer stores across India . while i was working for her I found my calling and realised that designing is something i would want to make my carrer in.

I soon realised the importance of learning and implementing what I have learnt and hence enrolled myself for a course in fashion designing. I learnt simple pattern making ,different types of textiles, the various forms of embroideries from Ikat of Andhra Pradesh to Phulkaris work from Punjab. The Bandhani of Rajasthan and the beautiful Sufi embroidery. I also learnt the basics of fabric manupilation ,applique, tie and die, baltic and marbling work on fabrics. Studying and learning opened numerous horizons and made me fall in love with designing all overagain.

India is a place where you see so much diversity. Fashion here is still at a very nascent stage. We are experimenting with new textures colours and sheen. I wish to combine the royal heritage of India with the new developing fashion of the West. Studying from Milan opened my mind and made me aware that fashion is never constant. The exposure, experience and the amount of work ethics I Learnt there not only made me grow as a designer but also as a person.

Milan taught me to respect fashion designing as an Art. The travelling and gathering Inspirations from the Art Nouveau to the Art Deco period, The beauties of Architecture and the Paintings made me realise that Designing is something that goes beyond just books and pattern making.

Working for the Milan Fashion week was another opportunity that came way. I was working and living a dream. Learning in a place like that, I got firsthand experience where I could interact from the leading designers and learn their way of working. This is something I will hold onto for all the years to come

Apparel design has always intrigued me, I wish to make a mark in this industry and be the little child gifted with the scribble pad and pencil - the world being my canva.
