New Delhi August 6, 2018: Global cine star Priyanka Chopra , who bid goodbye to her role as Alex Parrish in “Quantico”, which gave an unprecedented push to her career in Hollywood, hopes she has been able to kick open the door for Indin and Asian female film stars and women and especially those of colour to get to play lead characters in American mainstream showbiz.
“As the season ends, I am saying goodbye to Alex Parrish. As you’ll see, her story will come full circle and that is the best feeling as an actor. Bringing Alex to life has challenged me physically and emotionally, but even more significant it has (I hope) cracked the door open for female talent and women of color from Asia to play leading ladies in US and other countries ,” said Ms Priyanka Chopra , an actress, singer, film producer, philanthropist, and the winner of the Miss World 2000 pageant while speaking at an interactive session titled “Challenging the Status Quo & Forging New Paths” organised Jointly by FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) and yes bank here today.”, she was touted as the first South Asian to headline an American network drama series. She even won a People’s Choice Award.
" I have since found a good foothold in the industry as she bagged a role in “Baywatch”, “A Kid Like Jake”, “Isn’t It Romantic” and am also committed to star opposite Chris Pratt in the action film “Cowboy Ninja Viking”. She said
" I have a desire to act in theatre in Broadway and make several movies in different languages on empowerment of women. I like reading books but not shopping . I love New york but become MArathi in Mumbai" the cine actress said.
