Guests distributed the, Rs.50 thousand to Padma Shri D. Prakash Rao. He might be a small-time tea seller, but D Prakash Rao has helped slum children in Cuttack in a big way to get education. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited him and showered praises on him for his noble deed of educating poor slum kids of his locality. PM even narrated rao's story while addressing the nation during his monthly radio programme “Mann Ki Baat”, Rs.5 Lakhs to Save the Child foundation., 2.5 Lakhs financial help to 10 poor weavers of telugu states.
Kalamandir Kalyan, Director - Kalamandir, giving his note on the occasion said, For the 1st time introducing “Kalamandir Foundation Seva Ratna Puraskar” and as part of it selected 10 unsung heroes from the society and awarding them with award and Rs.50 thousand cash prize and felicitation, Distributed Merit scholarships of worth Rs.60 Lakhs to childrens of Kalamandir group staff, Donated Rs.2.5 Lakhs to Sri Vivekananda Vidya Vikas Kendra Trust. “A thought of paying back to the society has lead to the initiation of this noble cause called ‘Kalamandir Foundation’. Serving others and helping the needy gave us eternal delight. It was the greatest achievement we ever achieved. We have undertaken numerous initiatives in the areas of health, education and environment. Providing scholarships, organizing blood donation camps, protesting against drugs, promoting green revolution and donations to charity are few among those initiatives carried over by the Foundation.
The day started by organized blood donation camps at all the store across Telangana & Andhra Pradesh. The 200 packs collected blood was given to the Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Society which will help the children affected with Thalassemia.
