Brief on Deep Meta 2011 The much awaited Deep Mela is back again. It will be held at the spacious and attractive venue, The Imperial & Jewel Garden, Secunderabad from 15" to 17' July 2011 with the number of visitors expected to be around 25,000. This annual event is a shopper's delight with products ranging from garments, handicrafts, lifestyle artefacts, jewellery, rakhi etc. Deep Mela 2011 is being organised by Deepshikha Mahila Club, a 46 year old city based philanthropic organisation. The Mela will have more than 250 stalls, spread over five air-cooled pavilions and an air-conditioned hall, occupying around 61000 square feet area The USP of the Mela is the unique collection of the products showcased from all over India and abroad. The three day mega event will offer products not only from all the major cities of India but also from Thailand (gem stones and jewellery). This gala event encourages women entrepreneurs to showcase their skills and products. It also helps other charitable organisations bygiving them space at nominal cost. In our efforts towards preserving the environment, we have made it compulsory to use eco friendly bags Another attraction is the food court which is straight from the streets of Mumbai. Apart from Pay Bhaiji, Pani pun, Vada Pay and different chaat items they have a veritable range of delicacies which is satisfying as the shopping experience.

Deepshikha Mahila club is one of the oldest ladies organisations dedicated to charitable work which includes education to the girl child and vocational training courses to empower the underprivileged. The club runs the Kanya Gu ruku I High school which has Telugu and English medium schools with more than 700 children. Recently, it has added a Vocational Training College at Intermediate level which provides education to about 125 students.

The proceeds from Deep Mela will go towards running the above projects and other charitable activities.

Deepshikha has always come forward to help be it the heart surgery for the underprivileged children (6), or extending a helping hand to the families affected by Tsunami - funding their rehabilitation (100 families), or sending help to the soldiers at the "Front" at the Kargil -War, providing Artificial Limbs to more than 100 physically challenged people, or Rehabilitation of Flood affected weavers of Andhra Pradesh. These are only a few of the Causes from the recent past for which DEEPSHIKHA stood up. What makes this club unique from other social clubs is that all its member's work as a well knit family for the benefit of the organization and take personal interest in all its endeavors. This ensures that a lot of effort and planning goes to make the Deep Mela a success.
