Message from Director Prof. Malini Divakala

NIFT has played a key role in growth of the textile and fashion industry in India and is not only limited to meeting the burgeoning demand for well-trained fashion professionals from the industry but also in setting the benchmarks for the qualities required for the same. At NIFT learning is not just limited to the class rooms and hence practical learning is very much a part of the curriculum. It is our aim to provide quality education and promote sensitive approach towards exploration.. In a world where change is the buzzword and innovation is the basic necessity, NIFT teaches its students to think creatively and act responsibly. The curriculum at NIFT is updated to suit the needs of the industry and society at large. NIFT sensitizes its students towards the traditional crafts and promotes interaction with the craft community in addition to keeping its doors open for a global connect. Graduate education culminates in a creative and original contribution in one’s field of study representing the ability to participate in the advancement of human knowledge. On the occasion of the CONVOCATION 2012, I congratulate the young graduates and wish them luck for the future endeavors. However, with a successful graduation, comes bigger challenges and obstacles in life. I wish that you will face and overcome them for your glory with the same zeal and vigor.
