Hyderabad... 3 February 2013: Dancer, Teacher and Choreographer Dr. Yashoda Thakore performed Kuchipudi dance here at the Valedictory function of lndo-American Education Summit & Expo 2013 at Marigold Hotel, Hyderabad today. Dr. Yashoda has given various solo performances in India and abroad and has also performed in many prestigious cultural festivals including The Nehru Centre, London; The Indian High Commission, Dubai, Greece, St. Petersburg; International Kuchipudi Dance Convention, California; European Telugu Association Convention, Manchester; Music Academy — Madras; Krishna Gana Sabha, etc. She has also given various performance of Vilasini Natyam, the dance of the devadasis, the only female-specific dance form of Andhra Pradesh.
An accomplished and versatile dancer, Yash oda is known for expressing varied moods and themes with great finesse. She has choreographed many dance-dramas viz., Sri Andal, Paripoorna Ganga, Sri Maha Ganapati, Gopika Geetam, Galagala Godavari, etc. to critical acclaim. A winner of 'Woman Achiever Award' by the Guild of Women Achievers - Bangalore, awarded for her significant contribution to the realm of classical dance, she is a Guest Faculty at Department of Dance, University of Hyderabad

A student of Kuchipudi Art Academy-Hyderabad she has learnt the nuances and intricacies of dance from Gurus such as Padmashri Smt. Sobha Naidu; Renowned dance gurus Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam and his disciple Smt. Bala Kondala Raciand Padmabhushan Smt. Swapna Sundari.

She is a Master's Degree holder in Classical Dance from the University of Hyderabad and has earned a Doctoral degree for her thesis on "The Interrelationship between Yoga and Indian Classical Dance with Special Emphasis on Kuchipudi" after an intensive research of five years.

With her dance school 'Rinda Saranya Kuchipudi Dance Academy' Yashoda shares her art with those driven by a similar passion and help students realize their dream of being a classical dancer.
