Pre-Schools make kids better prepared for school and life
5 Lakh toddlers enroll in Pre-Schools in twin cities every year. Nearly 12 crore across the country. Learning, playing, growing, preparing for school and life
Hyderabad, 2 February 2013: Smiles - The Pre-School celebrated its Fourth Annual Day here in city at Ravindra Bharati auditorium today. 150 tiny toddlers and their parents graced the occasion. Tiny Toddlers, all below eight years presented a heart throbbing gymnastics performance and did karate stunts too!
The Kids danced on a variety of songs. The cultural programs organized on the occasion received thunderous applauds from the parents and guests. Meritorious toddlers were given away awards. Ten kids were presented with Inspirational Kids Awards.
Speaking on the occasion Ms. Sangeetha Rajesh, Founder and Principal of the Smiles said, "Pre-Schools lay a foundation for the bright future for the tiny toddlers. Among 5000 plus pre-schools in city, one school making difference to tiny toddlers is Smiles — The Pre-School at Himayatnagar. So much so that pre-schools' curriculum is designed here as well their teachers and principals are also trained. Smiles - The Pre School produces annually about 20 specialized pre-school teachers, who need all together different types of skills sets, she said. It has trained about 15 principals so far in developing curriculum for pre-schools.
Making a difference to the already crowded pre-schooling market is Ms. Sangeetha Rajesh. With over 10 years experience in pre-school education, consultancy, design of curriculum for various schools such as CMR Kids, DPS Kids, etc. Sangeetha developed 18 books for Brain Mapping Academy. She also produced Nursery to UKG Work Books and Course Books. She provides consultancy and assistance in setting up Pre-Schools. She is trained at ISB under Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Entrepreneurs Certificate Programme where ISB was an Academic partner where she along with others was provided business management education. Sangeetha was one of the few hundreds selected to go through the program. The market dominated by several big players like Kidzee, Euro Kids, Hello Kids, Sunshine, Smart Kids, Shemrock, Podar Jumbo, Kids Campus, Little Elly and others, Sangeetha has made a mark of her own with Smiles. Established in 2009, her school has 150 students. Prior to Smiles, she worked in Euro Kids, Meridian, DRS Kids, Educom Solutions and others. She made a humble beginning with 9 students. Today, she has more students than she can accommodate. What actually made a big difference is their approach. Another unique feature is special children, who are dropped due to various learning difficulties are welcomed here.
Smiles, today is known for Remedial Instruction, which not many Pre Schools can boast of. Remedial Instruction is also known as compensatory, preparatory and academic upgrading. This is aimed to bring underprepared students to the level of skill competency expected of new entrants to postsecondary education. Nearly two lakh tiny tots in twin cities in the age group up to 8 years suffer from learning difficulties. Parents are ignorant about such difficulties. Many schools are not equipped to handle such children. As result they are dropped. And those children ultimately are withdrawn from life. It is a huge problem, we are facing in the city, says Sangeetha Rajesh. H.No:3-6-547/5/2, New GHMC No1444, Street No. 7, Himayath Nagar, Hyderabad - 500029. Phone: 040-66665432, 64565432
