To make the cities self-reliant in these situations, 92.7 BIG FM Hyderbad has undertaken a month-long water conservation initiative ahead of the monsoons called “Neetini Panchu Life Andinchu” in association with Vodafone India. It was formally launched by Tollywood actress Reshma on Monday at Radisson Blu Hotel in the presence of Mr. Nishan Silva, General Manager, Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, Mandeep Singh Bhatia, Business Head, Andhra Pradesh, Vodafone India – the title sponsor for the campaign; Mr. Suresh Kumar, Chief Engineer, GHMC; Mr. Puneet Kumar, Station Head, BIG FM; Mr. Krishna, HARD NGO and 92.7 BIG FM RJs Ravi and Jo.
The Neetini Panchu Life Andinchu initiative aims to create awareness about the water crisis currently being faced by most Indian towns and cities along with the importance of water conservation. To accomplish these objectives the initiative will engage multiple stakeholders including communities, civic and government authorities, celebrities, experts and NGOs like Vridhi Foundation. On-air, 92.7 BIG FM Hyderabad’s RJs will promote the initiative through listener engagement and awareness conversations aimed at highlighting opportunities such as Rainwater Harvesting, Water Conservation tips from experts, etc. The on-ground leg of the Neetini Panchu Life Andinchu initiative will witness the hosting of the ‘BIG Water Relay’ – a water donation drive, along with the distribution of multiple flyers highlighting the importance of water conservation and rainwater harvesting.
Mr. Ashwin Padmanabhan, Business Head – 92.7 BIG FM, said, “Water scarcity is a problem that is prevalent across the country. Neetini Panchu Life Andinchu is our initiative to encourage our listeners across Hyderabad to conserve water through different means. Usually, the summers bring a lot of water cuts, but this year, through our initiative, we hope that our listeners will find much relief from their water woes as they educate themselves to make smarter use of our depleting natural resources.”
Mandeep Singh Bhatia, Business Head, Andhra Pradesh, Vodafone India said, “The nature of our business is intrinsically sustainable – our technology improves the daily life of people everywhere. But that’s not enough. In true sense, a responsible business is one that is good for people, good for the environment and good for our shareholders. And we aspire to be no less. Our commitment to corporate responsibility is at the heart of everything we do. In Hyderabad specifically, every year people have to deal with the water woes. As a responsible corporate we want to contribute towards the community by launching a project which can provide few solutions towards this problem. We are proud to be a part of Neetini Panchu, Life andinchu.”
