Dr. Daggubati Purandeswari unveils ASSOCHAM Listening Post (ALP)
Hyderabad, 29th July, 2013: Dr. Daggubati Purandeswari, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, unveiled ASSOCHAM Listening Post (ALP) for Andhra women at an event organized by the Hyderabad Chapter of ASSOCHAM Ladies League (ALL) in Taj Deccan today, Dr. Purandeshwari said, “This is a great initiative by ALL to provide right judicial support and guidance to the troubled women of Andhra Pradesh ” Developed by ALL, ASSOCHAM Listening Post is a web portal and helpline for women that facilitates reporting of crime against women and channelizes assistance.
"These days women issues are occupying the centre stage and need to be addressed immediately. We hope our online portal will be a major catalyst in creating awareness and support to women, ” said Ms Suman Gahlot, Chapter Chairperson, Hyderabad Chapter -ASSOCHAM Ladies League and General Manager, Taj Deccan. She added “Initially this portal will provide assistance to people in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. We are committed to this service and are planning to grow this helpline portal throughout Andhra Pradesh. ”
Begum Bilqees Latif, a renowned figure in the city, said that “access to this empowering portal will help prevent violence and crimes against women and also help women to resolve their problems proactively. ”
Mr. Sailesh, the chief architect of this web portal said that, “ASSOCHAM Listening Portal offers the accurate knowledge and guidance required by women to know their rights and seek appropriate guidance. ”
