Art Karat's Heirloom Collection Display at Taj Deccan, Hyderabad

Hyderabad, 4th September, Art Karat, one of India's most celebrated jewellery design houses, brings to you its latest offering 'The Heirloom Collection”. Hidden from the eyes of connoisseurs, available only at auctions or museums, Art Karat has recreated some fabulous jewellery pieces that have been lost over time.

The entire collection is created on silver with exceptional kundan craftsmanship, studded with precious stones such as emeralds, rubies,amber, lapis and opals. For a limited time the collection will be on display at Taj Deccan Hotel (Trinity Hall), Road No.l, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad from 4th September to 8th September 2013, 11am to 8pm.

The designer behind Art Karat, Asha Kamal Modi has crafted a sense of history in this collection, where each piece is inspired by the priceless heirlooms of the Maharajahs and their symbols of splendor and luxury.

Art Karat believes, jewellery is an art form and art is for generations to treasure and feel proud of to own and wear. The collection features unique styles in earrings, necklaces, bracelets, bajubandhs, tikas, rings, anklets, pendants, bangles, etc. in ornate, distinctive designs, that will be treasured for generations.

Art Karat has already exhibited its “Heirloom Collection” across the United States, UK, Singapore and Australia. With an over whelming response abroad, they now plan to showcase this range across India in their showrooms and exhibitions. Designer Profile:
ASHA KAMAL MODI, Jewellery Designer

Gemologist by profession, Asha Kamal Modi is the chief designer for Art Karat. Asha has been felicitated for her talent with the President's award for design and hasthe prestigious Best Designer Accolade by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council; recently she was recognized by the FICCI Ladies Organization as one of India’s 20 most influential women who have significantly contributed to the economic reform of the country, amongmany other recognitions.

Asha Kamal Modi launched her line in 1988, a time when the concept of designer jewellery was unheard in India; in face of acute cynicism she has carved a niche for herself as one of the most recognized jewellery designers of India. She draws her inspirations from the basic elements of nature together with the rich Indian heritage, studying its changing moods and traditions. Each of her designs is different in style, mood and craftsmanship, made to perfection by some of India's finest artisans.

Asha's creations cater to a wide canvas of both traditional and western tastes, blending majestically with whatever a woman wears. Asha has designed jewellery for more than 10 Bollywood blockbusters some of which include movies like 'Devdas', Monsoon Wedding' and 'Kamasutra'.
