Amala Akkineni launches Clay Ganesha Campaign 2013 by HMDA, Hyderabad

Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is organising the "Clay Ganesha Campaign 2013" with the main objective of seeking community participation in lake conservation & protection and to promote traditional method of Ganesh celebrations by the use of Clay Ganesh Idols HMDA has received requisitions from several RWAs & Community groups.

We thank you for your interest & cooperation in using Clay Ganesh idols.

On the basis of your requisition HMDA is pleased to allot a 3ft size Clay Idol for your community group. The clay idol is being offered at a subsidised cost and we request you to collect the idol from Lumbini Park area by paying an amount of Rs 1500/-
A formal programme has been scheduled on 6th Sep 2013 at 11 am. The idols will be handed over at the programme. You are requested to kindly join the programme along with authorization from your respective RWA / community group / Institution.

HMDA wishes to reiterate that the "Clay Ganesha Campaign" has the aim of sensitising the general public on environmental issues and also to involve educational institutions. RWAs and Community Groups around the lakes and water inlet areas to take interest in Lake Conservation and explore the possibilities for formation of lake Protection Committees. This year as a new initiative we would welcome decentralized / in-situ immersion of Ganesh idols. We seek your cooperation.
