About Ikebana:
Ikebana is a traditional art form of Japan which involves the creative arrangement of flowers, branches and leaves in various combinations. The arrangements conform to certain rules and are asymmetrically shaped closely resembling nature. They are graceful and rhythmic with beautiful lines. Ikebana came into origin with the introduction of Buddhism to Japan more than 600 years ago. The art form evolved from mere offerings of flowers to Buddha in temples at the altar, to many styles and schools. Each school has its own specific theories and principles. Practicing Ikebana helps one to create a bond with natural surroundings, become patient, quiet and tolerant and inspires to appreciate all other art forms.

About Ikebana international Hyderabad Chapter # 250:
Ikebana International Hyderabad Chapter was founded in 1997 by Late Grandmaster Horyu Meena Anantnarayan in 1999 with 20 members.

The membership now stands at more than 50 with Ms. Uma Chigurupati as President. Members meet every month over interesting workshops, exhibitions, Japanese culture programs and Indo Japanese fusion events. The members work hard at promoting Ikebana, spreading the awareness of nature and environmental issues.
