The works of Anjolie Ela Menon in this exhibition focus on both landscapes and figural objects with more subtle colours, while Sakti Burman's painting takes one into their dream-like worlds. His compositions are magnificent and strikingly unconventional. Burman's works have a continuous narrative structure. The artist brings alive an enchanting world of comely maidens, children sitting on birds and animals, flora and fauna, where everything dwells in harmony. Akhilesh and Pushkale's paintings have poetic representations. Aesthetically beautiful, it has fresh colours, with their own signature styles. On the other hand, there is Gulam Mohammed Sheikh's work; his work initiates a narrative and figurative tendency with a surreal touch.
F N Souza, best known for his inventive human forms particularly the heads became the first post¬independent Indian modern painter to achieve high recognition in the West. Don't miss works of artists Akbar Padamsee, Deepak Tandon, Ganesh Pyne, Kartick Pyne, Jogen Chowdhury and Paritosh Sen who has carried the artistic traditions and have become renowned over decades with their own distinctive style.
