Ancient Manuscripts Exhibition at Bhavan's Vivekananda College, Hyderabad

An exhibition was put up by the Andhra Pradesh Government Oriental Manuscripts library and Research Institute at Bhavan’s Vivekananda College.
In the world of competition, business, science and technology, we are being carried away by the trends of modern life. In today’s times of warfare, politics and electronics, we have become ignorant of our culture and the importance of our Vedas.
Few of us know the relevance of Ramayana and the Mahabharata.
“Ayurveda was given as a boon by our by ancient India but it is slowly fading in today’s world.
Our great Rishimunis, who gave moral values and ethics through their great manuscripts, came all the way to “Bhavan’s Vivekananda College”.
We are privileged to have a look at the age old manuscript’s which are carefully preserved. We are glad to know that ancient India had great knowledge in the fields of physics, mathematics, and medicine, forest ect.
The writings on “Bhruja patra” and the “palm leaves” were so accurately carved .The writings of Valmiki was translated and written in Telugu and Persian language which was a wonder to see. Manuscripts like Dharma Sutrani a part of “Gauthama Sutramulu”, “Nala Charitra” by Raghava kavi, Sri Madhandhara Maha Bhagavathamu by Bheemavera pothanna, “Sri Madhramayana Mukhuhara” by Govinda Raja.
Apart from the manuscripts, the copies of the calligraphy style of the Mughals, beautifully decorated Monuments of Hyderabad, Diwan –I- Hafeez, Quran- I – Majeed, by Yaqut – ul- Mustasani. Hadeeth, which is a kufi script written on deer skin with blood has been preserved since 800 years. Along with the manuscripts and the copies of Mughal inscriptions, even books of wisdom, history, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Ayurveda, Telugu inscriptions, Cuddapah inscriptions and many interesting books were on display.
The exhibition is an evidence of our ancient Indian Heritage. It has a solution to the present day ills of mankind.
