Viswanathan Anand unveils NIIT Nguru MathLab Plus in Reqelford International

Five-time World Champion and NIIT MindChampion Viswanathan Anand today launched the state-of-the-art NIIT Nguru MathLab Plus at Reqelford International School, Hyderabad. MathLab is an in-depth program inculcating mathematical aptitude, skill building and logical thinking amongst students.

MathLab Plus aims at making the vital subject of mathematics simpler, easier and fun to learn for school students. Built on NCF 2005 guidelines and based on NCRT syllabus MathLab aims to enable students to learn, reason, connect ideas and think logically. MathLab Plus offers multiple teaching and learning aids comprising technology applications, videos, measuring instruments etc. It also enables the teacher to demonstrate, explain and reinforce abstract mathematical ideas by using concrete objects, models, charts, graphs, pictures, posters etc.

As per an impact study conducted, it has been observed that the percentage of students attaining grade A in class-X increased from 38% to 46% after MathLab implementation in schools. Also, 70% of the students agreed that MathLab has increased their interest in Mathematics.

On the occasion NIIT MindChampion Viswanathan Anand spoke at length on how technology has brought about a huge transformation in the school education system. Anand stressed on the fact that use of technology and e-learning will allow high quality education material to reach remote locations thereby allowing teachers to expand their reach. As a result overall efficiency of the education system is likely to improve. With the introduction of technology in school education, the students will certainly take more interest in the curriculum and it would also be the best way to unleash their creativity.
