St. Francis College for Women, Begumpet organized 'Mediasphere' , an inter college media fest on 23rd January, 2016 in the college premises . Many interesting and fun filled events and competitions were lined up throughout the day. Tollywood actor ‘Raj Tarun’ and the team of the upcoming Tollywood movie ‘Seethamma Andalu Ramayya Sitralu’ graced the occasion during the inaugural. Actor Raj Tarun who enthralled the audience exclaimed “it feels great to be here among all of you”. Sasha Thomas, one of the students who participated said that the fest was, “one of a kind experience and I can’t control my excitement”. The list of events that took place is as follows-
1) Indian Cinema Quiz: Teams were quizzed on topics related to Indian cinema Bollywood, Tollywood and Kollywood.
2) News Room: Contestants had to report a news story. They were judged based on their presentation skills, fluency in speaking and creativity by journalist Satya from TV9.
3) AD-Zap : Contesting teams had to market and advertise any product that was given to them.
4) Documentary Screening: Documentaries and short films which were directed by the contestants were screened in the Auditorium from 1:30-2:30pm. Vishy Teki was the judge.
5) Capture: Capture was a photography competition with the theme being “Celebrate Life”. Photos clicked by the contestants were displayed in the American Corner from 1:00-1:30 pm. D.Ravinder Reddy judged the students.
6) Drishtikon: It was a photo essay writing competition where contestants had to write a creative essay on any photo that was displayed in the American Corner. The event took place from 12:00-1:00pm. Director P. Suresh and D.Ravinder Reddy were the judges.
7) Dubsmash: A dubsmash competition was held online on the club Facebook page which is, 'Zeitgeist: St. Francis College for Women'. The video with the most number of likes won the competition.
The fest was successful in providing a platform for budding journalists and media students to showcase their talent. The fest witnesed the participation of almost 500 students from all over the city. It was a huge success.
