‘Natyam’ is a short film – it’s a story of a talented marital woman Kalyani’s dream that would have faded away if not for her grit to make it real. The movie is about her journey to attain excellence in the art of Kuchupudi Dance she loves the most.

Hyderabad, India, 9thth May 2016: Kirtilals Jewellers, premium fine diamond and gold jewellery brand in India, with its extensive work supporting performing arts, promoting art and culture, is now delighted to be able to lend its support to Natyam.

Woman empowerment projects inspire Kirtilals jewellers more deeply. They found a perfect way to promote it through a young filmmaker Revanth’s short film ‘Natyam’. Natyam made us think differently about what we could do to promote ancient art of Kuchupudi Dance in the form of a film which has a deep connect with art & women empowerment.

The filmmaker held an exclusive media premiere on Monday. Director Revanth and the lead lady of the film Kuchipudi Artiste Sandhya Raju along with G Madhusudhan, General Manager, Kirtilal Jewellers addressed the media post the preview of the movie.
All the actors have done a commendable job in the film, which has many absorbing moments loaded with well scripted dialogues and intense moments between the actors. Sandhya Raju is convincing as the beautiful, passionate Kuchipudi artist Kalyani. The viewers will certainly not able to take their eyes off her debut performance as an actor. The Director has presented the plot well and keeps the audience engrossed till the finale.

As Kalyani she portrays the internal conflict between external comforts and thirst to pursue her inner passion perfectly. She flawlessly sinks into the role and transforms herself into this mythical Kuchupudi beauty.
“As an artist I feel Natyam will inspire many women who relates to the role played in the film by me. What brings joy to me is that the film is being showcased to the world on the eve of International Dance Day it is a compelling tribute to a great art and its revival.” Sandhya Raju says.

Young aspiring filmmaker Revanth must be given credit for being creative and to tell a new story that highlights marital conflicts of an aspiring artist, “Natyam” It is about dreaming and turning your dream into reality. Set in the backdrop of family bond and commitments. Above all it is an entertaining short film with a purpose to promote art, to communicate a message, to experiment and to reach out millions of family that deal with conflicts like Kalyani’s.

Natyam is a good watch for all the other elements it encapsulates. Great direction, brilliant characterization, sound, cinematography, design, wardrobe and writing, it will be truly a pleasure to watch and re-watch.

Speaking to the media Sandhya Raju and Revanth said we got to give Kirtilals credit for encouraging and funding this genre since Indian short films are starved of attention and viewership otherwise.
