The Audio Review of “King”

The audio of ‘King’ starring Nagarjuna, Trisha and Mamta Mohandas was released to the market on December 1st. Tollywood’s musical king Devisri Prasad gave the fantastic music combined with Ramajogayya Sastry’s artistic lyrics. Leslie Lewis, Mamta Mohandas, Shankar Mahadevan, Vaddepalli Srinivas, Gopika Poornima, Naveen Madhav, Priya Hemesh, Sagar, Divya, Ujjayinee, Rahul Nambiar, Andrea and Devisri Prasad have contributed by lending their voice to the album. Aditya Music Company bagged the marketing rights of this album.
King Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Leslie Lewis, Mamatha Mohandas
King with rhythmic and impressive tune makes even the first time listeners appreciate. Leslie Lewis’s voice perfectly fits in for the number. Mamta Mohandas is at her usual best. This song is just an example to facilitate people visualize the picturisation of the song. Devisri Prasad (DSP) has put in his best efforts to display his brand image. This number has already topped the chart-busters.
A to Z Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Naveen Madhav, Priya Hemesh
‘A-Z’, the foot tapping number supported by guitar strings is a youth entertainer. The lyrics from Ramajogayya Sastry’s books contains choosy Hindi words and Bollywood stars names are very good catalyst giving a tough competition to the title song.
O Manmadhuda Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Sagar, Divya
‘O Manmadhuda’ having soft and romantic words from Ramajogayya is used in such a way that the fans of Nagarjuna will be immensely pleased. Yes! This song is a typical Nag brand. The use of instruments like sitar in this song resembles a bit nearer to one of the songs in Nag’s ‘Manmadhudu’. This is my pick of the album.
Yenthapani Chestiviro Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Vaddepalli Srinivas, Priya Hemesh
This is DSP’s master piece for front benchers. The drum beats dominating the entire song will certainly be a favorite for many dance competitions. Telangana accent is prevalent in the lyrics which also have a staunch folk influence. Credit also goes to Vaddepalli Srinivas and Priya Hemesh for their best contribution.
Ghanana Ghanana Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Ujjayinee
‘Ghanana Ghanana’ is a solo song with classical touch. Ujjayinee’s voice matches very well with the classical instruments. This song gives a feeling of a good traditional dance performance on silver screen.
Nenu Nee Raja Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Rahul Nambiar, Andrea
This fast number gives a feel of western start with the starting line “My love is gonna take you higher”. But later it changes into a typical Telugu track. Rahul Nambiar and Andrea have synchronized their voices effectively.
Ghanana (Funny) Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Mamatha Mohandas
Although the tune is repetitive of ‘Ghanana Ghanana’, this entire song spanning for 2 minutes is thoroughly enjoyable. The lyrics dominated by many Hindi film titles have good comic touch. This is yet another product of Mamta Mohandas in this album, the first one being the title song.
Nuvvu Ready Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Shankar Mahadevan, Gopika Poornima
This is a Indi-style number with foot tapping beats and clapping background and catchy lyrics like ‘Nuvvu ready nenu ready gana bajana band ready….tara rum pum pum tara rum pum pum’. Devi composed this song with folk touch supported by Shankar Mahadevan and Gopika Poornima.
King (The DSP Mix) Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Devi Sri Prasad
It is DSP’s typical practice in each of his films, to repeat the title song in some form or the other. This song, a solo effort by DSP is a bit faster than the title song but giving the same impact. The special mention in the beginning of the song by DSP indicates that Nag shook his legs with ten heroines for this number.
On the whole, all the songs have certain individuality like western, classic, folk, solo etc. It attracts class as well as mass together. This album, no doubt a hit. The dedicated DSP and imaginative Ramajogayya Sastry make a perfect combo that rocks. ‘King’ for sure will not disappoint his loyals. Go grab a CD/DVD.
