Dhookudu - Sounds Good!!!

When it comes to Mahesh Babu’s film, expectations for its music are exceptionally high as you all know that most of Mahesh’s films are musical hits. For the first time we are going to see a new combination in ‘Dhookudu’ with Mahesh Babu, Samantha, Sreenu Vaitla, Thaman and 14 Reels Entertainment banner. Naturally the film lovers would be curious about the music of this film. The long wait is over for Mahesh fans as well as Sreenu Vaitla’s fans. Now let’s check out the music.
Nee Dookudu Music: S.S. Thaman Lyrics: Vishwa Singer: Shankar Mahadevan
The album opens strongly to its stylish title track with lush orchestra. ‘Nee Dookudu Saatevvadu’ starts off in an acoustic guitar riff that sounds pretty cool and leads into Shankar Mahadevan’s inspiring vocals along with constant chorus in the background. Although the lyrics sound little monotonous, the vocal techniques are simply wonderful. Another thing that strikes you about this track is the rich production. But, by listening to this graceful and stylish song, fans will identify this piece as Mahesh Babu’s song and not Thaman’s.
Guruvaram Music: S.S. Thaman Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry Singer: Rahul Nambiar
‘Guruvaram March okati, Saayantram 5.40, Tholisariga choosa ninnu…’ is a fantastic song and perfect for a newly blossomed love. Rahul Nambiar sings light and airy to add to the beauty of the song. Ramajogayya pens it as a silly love song given that the situation in the film tells how crazy the hero is about the heroine. This modern love song is wonderfully fun and catchy while keeping the music rich and energetic. The lines in this song indicate that the heart is like a parachute, it only opens when you fall. Just listen to this track and enjoy!
Chulbuli Chulbuli Music: S.S. Thaman Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry Singer: Karthik, Rita
‘Oye Basanthi Oye, Oye Basanthi Oye….Hey Chulbuli Chulbuli….’ showcases high voltage energy involving some energetic dance steps. The drums carry effective energy along with rocking male and female vocalists. An interesting upbeat chorus combined with Karthik and Rita’s lively vocals makes this a good song. The energetic backgrounds, the cool lyrics and the catchy vocals together make this song pretty interesting as long as the track is playing.
Poovai Poovai Music: S.S. Thaman Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry Singer: Ramya NS, Navin Madhav
‘Poovai Poovai antadu Auto Appa Raavu…’ is probably the most enjoyable song in this album which aptly suits the Sreenu Vaitla’s comedy style. Ramajogayya’s lyrics also gel well with Sreenu Vaitla’s style of interactive fun with the characters in the film. Ramya sings it with great ease in a mass style. The line “Superstar age unnodiki padatha neno tenderu, Neelanti ‘Okkadu’ dorike dhaaka tensionu, Nee ‘Pokiri’ chethiki dhorikaaka inko tensionu, Nee dhuduku ‘Dookudiki’ yesedhanani tensionu”, indicates that the lyricist targeted Mahesh’s fans in this song. No doubt, this mass item number will be a feast to fans in theaters.
Dethadi Dethadi Music: S.S. Thaman Lyrics: Bhaskarabhatla Singer: Ranjith, Divya
This is another dance number with steady rhythmic beat throughout to make dancing pleasurable. Ranjith and Divya rendered the vocals effortlessly. Bhaskarabhatla’s lyrics are okay. Overall it’s a good danceable number otherwise there is nothing great to talk about this song.
Adara Adara Music: S.S. Thaman Lyrics: Ramjogayya Sastry Singer: Karthik, Koti, Ramjogayya Sastry, Vardhini, Ranina Reddy, Megha
The album ends with a song on marriage backdrop. ‘Adara Adara gottu….’ is a wedding song in a teasing manner, something fun for the guests to enjoy before the wedding. In this teasing number, the friends of bride-to-be and the bridegroom-to-be will tease each other. While penning lyrics for this song, Ramajogayya appears to have turned hilarious. The vocalists also seem to have enjoyed while crooning this fun-filled number. One will enjoy this song along with eye catching visuals more than just listening to the audio.
In general, music plays vital role in Mahesh Babu’s films. Even though the songs in ‘Dhookudu’ are fun, energetic and sounded good, musically, they are not that great. However, most of the audios in Sreenu Vaitla’s films will become familiar only after the film’s release. ‘Dhookudu’ being the first time combination of Mahesh Babu, Sreenu Vaitla and SS Thaman, let’s wait and see!!!
