In a sort of debut dominating scenario the movie ‘Anaganaga O Dheerudu’ (Once Upon A Warrior) has certain specialty in it.  It is that the people debuting are none but the children of well known personalities in the movie industry.  One is the director Prakash Rao Kovelamudi, who is the s/o of K Raghavendra Rao and others being Shruti Haasan, d/o Dr Kamal Haasan and Lakshmi Manchu, d/o Dr Mohan Babu.  A debut of different sort is that of Walt Disney who is doing the film in south Indian language for the first time.  Well! What are they upto?  They have reinvented a fantasy adventure in Telugu.

The story goes like time.  There is a small island Angarajyam which comes under a threat of an evil Queen Irendri.  A nine year old girl Moksha played by Baby Harshita has some special healing powers and she vows to save the island from the evil queen.  Siddharth, a blind swordsman supports the girl in achieving her quest.  In the process he also comes across a gypsy played by Shruti Haasan who later changes into his love interest.  Lakshmi Manchu does the negative role in the movie as Queen Irendri.

Siddharth, who is trying to find his proper co-ordinates after ‘Bommarillu’, is banking heavily on this film in which he is experimenting a different role altogether.  Shruti Haasan, who is known for a flamboyant style with a rock star image has also taken up a challenging role as a gypsy woman.  All said and done it is going to be the villain character played by Lakshmi Manchu that will ever stand in the eyes of the audience.  So she has a good future if she comes out successfully like her father.  There can be lesser doubts going by her roots where her father donned the Telugu villain world for decades. It is important to mention about Baby Harshita who has already made an impression through her role in Gautham Menon’s ‘Nuvvu Nenu Prema’ in which Surya and Jyothika played her parents. This apart, we also have been seeing her in some notable advertisements with a pleasing smile.

For director Prakash, though this film is a first commercial one, he has already made his presence felt by bagging the national award for his film ‘Bellyful of Dreams’.

This movie 'Anaganaga O Dheerudu' with a budget of Rs 30 crores was started by A Bellyful Of Dreams Entertainment (ABODE) of Kovelamudi which later got the support from Walt Disney to co-produce which incidentally happens to be their first venture in south India.  The movie that would be released in three languages at a time will originate in Telugu and get dubbed in Tamil and Malayalam.

Written by Choudekar Haricharan Madnoor, AOD is a fantasy adventure film mostly filmed in India and Turkey.  The music gets a lot of importance with contributions from experts like MM Keeravani, Salim & Sulaiman Merchant, Koti and Mickey J Meyer.  The comedy king Brahmanandam, now a days finds place in almost all the films and this film is also not an exception.  He is aptly supported by Ali, Allari Ravi Babu and Thanikella Bharani.  So we can expect a good dose of comedy apart from fairy tale experience.

This family film is due for release on January 14th distributed directly by Walt Disney Pictures.  Edited by Shravan Karthikeyan and cinematography is handled by Soundar Rajan whose work will be the prime attraction of this movie apart from its story.  In the present style of movie making, graphics add value to the movie and it will nice to see a fantasy adventure with shade of graphics.

A national award winning director, children of well renowned actors, a fully packed and experienced comedy department, starving hero and well renowned production house make a perfect combination for hard work and thereby a good product.  The family with children may get a good chance to enjoy a movie of a fairy tale kind during this festive season.
