Prakash Raj bags National award for Kannada film Puttakkana Highway

Prakash Raj, who produced a Kannada film ‘Puttakkana Highway’ wins the National Award in the category of Best Regional Film in Kannada. The film is based on the novel ‘Puttakkana Medical College’ which deals about developmental issues. It was directed by Suresh. This is the 1st time Prakash Raj has won the prestigious accolade as a producer.

So far he has won 4 National awards as an actor for his limitless talent. They are:

1998 – Best Supporting Actor for the Tamil film ‘Iruvar’.

1999 – Best Actor Award (Spl Jury) for the Telugu film ‘Anthahpuram’.

2003 – Spl Jury award for doing a commendable job in 12 films (in Tamil, Telugu & Kannada) he had worked in, in one year.

2008 – Best Actor award for the Tamil film ‘Kanchivaram’.
