The film strike took place twice this year and is going to start once again. The first two strikes were related to just the Telugu Film Industry with reason being the clash between the Chennai and Hyderabad fighters during the shoot of ‘Kandireega’ film. This has also ignited between the workers and producers. Although the shootings were stalled initially by the producers later the film federation employees also refused to work till they meet their demands due to which the film shootings could not take place for couple of months.

As things were said to be settling down slowly, the strike began for the third consecutive time in this year only. However this time it’s not just the Telugu film industry but the South India Film Chamber has called for the strike stating the reason of failure of the discussions between Film Federation Employees and South India Film Chamber of Commerce relating to the burden for the producers from the employees of 24 crafts. Therefore the South India Film Chamber has ordered producers that the new films should not be launched from 7th September onwards and the films under production should complete its shootings by October 31st. The South India Film Chamber also made it clear that they have increased 30% of the employees pay and that they cannot hike more than that. It also announced that from now on the producers can choose to work with the persons they like.
