Summer Rhapsody from Hyderabad wins 'Best Indian Short Film' award

'Summer Rhaposdy', a 20 minute fiction short film from Hyderabad, has won 'Golden Royal Bengal Tiger Award' for the 'Best Indian Short Film' at a festival organized by West Bengal Government in honour of great filmmakers like Satyajit Ray and Ritwik Ghatak.

Shravan Katakineni, who worked as an editor for award winning films like 'Gamyam', 'Vedam' etc, directed this short film, produced by Gnanasekhar V.S., cinematographer for films like 'Vedam', 'Gautamiputra Satakarni', 'Manikarnika', 'NTR' etc, under Kali productions. Vivek Sagar of 'Pelli Choopulu' fame is the composer.

It was the 25th edition of the festival and was held between 8th and 15th November. Sourav Ganguly and Shah Rukh Khan were among others who inaugurated it.

Earlier Shravan directed the documentary film, 'Chronicles  of a Temple Painter', which won Best Indian Documentary award at International Documentary Film Festival Of Kerala (IDSFFK). He was also the producer.
