The 1990s kids and movie-goers will know how much of a chartbuster 'Kannanule' from 'Bombay' was. It brought out the best not just of director Mani Ratnam, lyricist Veturi and singer Chitra, but also the genius AR Rahman and Mani Ratnam. Paying a tribute to such an outstanding song by means of a cover version is not easy. But Lavanya Tripathi has gone ahead with it.

The actress has recreated it out of love for the song. 'I learned always to follow your heart. So I followed my heart and performed on this beautiful song which is closest to my heart (sic)," the 'Arjun Suravaram' actress said on Tuesday, dropping the cover version, shot in the Uttarakhand woods with model Umang Gupta in tandem. Shot by Nitish Gurung, the song is out on her YouTube channel.

Lavanya is also kicked about her two films. Sundeep Kishan's 'A1 Express', which went on the floors after a gap of five months on Tuesday is one of them. The other one is 'Chaavu Kaburu Challaga'.
