Here is why Anushka Shetty's 'Nishabdham' can give multi-lingual projects a fillip

'Nishabdham' is one of the most-awaited releases of the year. A mystery thriller starring R Madhavan and Anushka Shetty, this Hemanth Madhukar directorial has got a unique first.

The shot-in-Seattle movie is the first tri-lingual film (releasing in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam) to come directly on an OTT platform. That's what makes it so interesting.

Amazon Prime Video, People's Media Factory and Kona Film Corporation are "excited as this can potentially open a big door of opportunity for big multi-lingual films."

“The makers feel that 'Nishabdham' would make each individual in the distant towns of the country feel empowered when they see it as part of mainstream cinema platforms. They are looking forward to greater opportunities and the release," a source quotes the makers as saying.

This is the Indian film debut of the American actor Michael Madsen. Shalini Pandey, Subbaraju and Srinivas Avasarala are playing key roles.

Releasing on October 2, the film will reach 200 countries.
