Lakshmi Manchu and her brother Manoj Kumar Manchu gave rise to controversy by attending the recent celebrations of 100 Yrs of Indian Cinema in Chennai. Few days ago Mohan Babu wrote a letter to AP Film Chamber of Commerce proposing the postponement of the centenary celebrations of Indian Cinema in Chennai due to the burning state of bifurcation of AP. He also stated that the TFI should not attend the event going by the present situation in the state. However, it raised many eye-brows when his daughter Lakshmi and son Manoj made their presence felt at the event.

Hence to keep a full stop to the speculation on this controversial issue, Lakshmi Manchu clarified on the remark saying that it was her father who insisted on her attending the centenary celebrations of Indian cinema in Chennai along with her brother Manoj. She explained, “My father insisted that Manoj and I should attend the event as mark of respect to Telugu Film Industry. So with due respect to my father’s feelings we had gone to Chennai to represent Telugu Cinema.”
