Sindhu Menon was born in Bengaluru in Karnataka state, India, on 17th June 1985. She is an Indian film actress & television host who is known in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil movies for her work.
Personal Life:
Sindhu Menon was born and educated in Bangalore. She received her degree from Sheshadripuram University, Bangalore. She is proficient in many languages including Hindi , English, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and others.
Karthik is her younger brother, famous VJ of Kannada music channels. She is married to Dominic Prabhu, an IT expert in the UK since 2010. The parents are blessed together with a daughter named Svetlana Prabhu.
Career:
She began her training in Bharatnatyam from a very early age. She once participated in a competition for Bharatnatyam and has even became a winner.
The Judge Bhaskar Hegde, of the competition, introduced her to Kannada film's veteran director, K V Jayaram. Jayram immediately cast her as a child artist in the year 1994 in his project titled "Rashmi." She was at the time only 9 years old.
She made her full acting debut in 1999 with the Kannada film Prema Prema Prema. She was just 14 when she took her first lead role. A few years later she has made her debut in the film industries in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. She has earned herself nominations for the Best Actress Award for her debut Malayalam film Uthaman.
Her 2007 Malayalam film Pulijanmam won the National Award as Best Feature Movie. She was always a successful actress on the small screen, as well as besides the silver screen. She was also active in hosting television shows in addition to starring in serials such as "Stree Hrudayam" and "Sriman Srimathi."
In 2009 She worked with renowned director Shankar.S in his Tamil film Eeram during her esteemed acting career.
Awards & Honors:
The film Pulijanmam, from Malayalam, received the National Award in the best feature film category in 2007.
