Saturday evening saw the 59th Idea Filmfare Awards (South) in Chennai. As expected by the audience, ‘Dookudu’ won 6 Filmfare Awards in Telugu. Best actor – Mahesh Babu, Best Film-Dhookudu, Best Director-Srinu Vaitla, Best Music Director_Thaman, Best Playback Singer (Male)-Rahul Nambiar-Guruvaram March Okati) and Best Comedian-M S Narayana. While ‘Dhookudu’ swept the Filmfares with 6 major awards, Nayantara grabbed the black lady for her outstanding performance as Sita in ‘Sri Ramarajyam’.Sai Kumar’s son Aadi won the Best Debut Actor award for his debut film ‘Prema Kavali’.
Another interesting award was for the Best Choreography which was received by Prem Rakshit for his mind-boggling steps in the popular song ‘Nath…Nath…Nath….Nath’ from ‘Badrinath’. The star-studded glitzy event attended by celebrities from Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam entertained the audience with colorful performances by glamour queens like Tamanna, Shruti Haasan, Priyamani, Richa Gangopadhyay, Sanjjanaa, etc.
