A new incident has come in headlines on Tuesday. An aspiring Telugu actress filed a police complaint on Tuesday, accusing director Tammareddy Chalapathi and actor Srujan for allegedly attempting to rape her in car. The complaint was lodged at Patamala police station in Vijayawada. In her statement, the actress claimed that both Chalapathi and Srujan assured to give her opportunity to act in the film. They took her to Bheemavaram on the pretext of going for a film shoot and attempted to rape her in the car.
After filing the complaint, the actress spoke to the media and narrated the incident, “I was supposed to reach Bheemavaram on August 13 and I was planning to travel by train. But the director and actor convinced me to travel in my car. As we almost approached Vijayawada, they started misbehaving with me. They assaulted me and thrown me in the back seat and began driving fast so that I can’t escape. But, luckily, the car collided with lorry and I managed to escape. I suffered injuries in the accident. I immediately sent my location to some of my friends and they rushed immediately and admitted me to the nearby hospital. Following that I have come to the police station to file complaint.”
She also stated, “The director and actor apologised and then they said that if I talk about this my career would be spoiled.”
The director has been taken into the custody, but hunt is on for the escaped actor. Police have registered a case for rash driving and damaging the actress’ car.
