There is now the threat of a third wave of the coronavirus pandemic. These days, the cases are increasing in West Bengal, with CM Mamata Banerjee saying that many of those who were fully vaccinated have tested positive in the last few days. A new variant has already been found in India.
This makes the December releases of movies uncertain. The most important title that will be affected if there is a third wave is 'Pushpa'. The Allu Arjun-Sukumar film is said to be already mooting postponement, although the reason has nothing to do with the fear of a third wave. The makers want the pan-India box office situation to be better before the movie is released.
If there is a third wave, other releases will also be postponed. From Nani's 'Shyam Singha Roy' to Varun Tej's 'Ghani', none of them will be out in theatres.
If there is an exponential rise in cases, the fear factor will increase among audiences.
