A report emerged on Saturday that Variety, the popular Hollywood magazine, recently predicted that Jr NTR is an unranked possible contender for a Best Actor Oscar win for his performance in 'RRR'. Actually, the category is not a top-tier one at all. (Also, SS Rajamouli and 'RRR', too, have been placed in a similar category under the Best Director and Best Picture categories, respectively. And there is no jubilation over it).
Jr NTR is a big star and the Best Actor category is the most glamorous one. Therefore, his fans have floated glowing hashtags on social media. 'NTR Goes Global', 'NTR For Oscars' and a couple of other hyper-sensational hashtag trends have been floated.
No wonder this is also leading to fan wars. Ram Charan's Alluri is perceived to be a more important character in the film. And he hasn't been placed in any category by Variety. This is seen as a personal victory for Tarak.
But the fact is this: Jr NTR hasn't received a prediction entry in the top-most category at all. 'RRR' stands better chances of winning an Oscar, not him.
