'Macherla Niyojakavargam' director MS Rajashekar Reddy today filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Department in Hyderabad. In the last couple of days, it has been projected through fake tweets that the filmmaker had abused Kamma and Kapu communities. The director is a self-confessed fan of YSR and YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
In his complaint, the debutant director described the creators of the fake tweets as mischievous elements who are attributing to him things he never said. "They have been making the fake tweets viral. They have also floated a #BanMacherlaNiyojakavargam trend on social media. They also started a vitriolic campaign against me via Twitter Spaces," the director said in the complaint.
The budding filmmaker added that the false allegations threaten to affect his career and image, besides sowing the seeds of discord between communities.
