Audiences are saying this: 'Pushpa also, Rocketry also!'

When 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' was released in theatres in late June, the audience's response seemed to be lukewarm. A social media user lamented, "When a film is made on a smuggler who commits crimes and shakes the system, the cinema halls witness housefull shows. But when a film on a great scientist is made, nobody gives a damn." The post was a dig at the audience for making 'Pushpa' a hit and ignoring 'Rocketry'.

Actually, we need to be kinder to the audience. 'Rocketry' became a slow and sure-shot hit in Hindi and Tamil, much to everyone's surprise. In all languages put together, the film is grossing Rs 50 Cr (worldwide) in its lifetime run.

Yes, the figure is nowhere close to how much 'Pushpa' minted at the box-office. But 'Rocketry' isn't a flop either. 'Pushpa' had a superstar, superb songs, and action at its core. 'Rocketry' is no match in terms of the entertainment factor. The audiences' message is clear: they want both 'Pushpa' and 'Rocketry'. And that's a good sign!
