Prashanth Neel refers to 'Varsham', 'Chatrapathi'

Prashanth Neel is ready with 'Salaar', which is slated to hit the cinemas on December 22. The film's advance bookings have been so exceptional that the 'RRR' openings are expected to be shattered.

In his latest interview, the 'KGF' director said that he pictured Prabhas in his pre-'Baahubali' avatar. While the two 'Baahubali' movies are considered Prabhas' magnum opus titles, Neel wanted to bring to the fore the persona that the actor embodied in the mid-2000s.

"The reason why I and so many are Prabhas' fans is because of all the mass roles he did before 'Baahubali'. I wanted to present him in the way I first loved him and watched him in films like 'Varsham', 'Chatrapathi'," the director has been quoted as saying.

Not many will agree with Neel's words that so many are Prabhas' fans because of the mass roles he did before his biggest tryst with Rajamouli in 2015. 'Varsham' and 'Chatrapathi' did give Prabhas many fans, but their popularity pales in comparison to that of the two 'Baahubali' movies.
