A common middle-class Indian man. The very description has a deep emotional resonance, given that this particular social category is known for working hard to make a living. Dulquer Salmaan plays such a man in 'Lucky Baskhar', whose Teaser was unveiled today by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas close on the heels of their stupendous blockbuster 'Tillu Square'.
Writer-director Venky Atluri casts the 'Sita Ramam' actor in the role of a bank employee who strikes rich in an unpredictable turn of events. To be sure, he is unpredictable for others. As far as he is concerned, though, he knows what he is up to.
Somewhere in the Teaser, the commoner-protagonist gives a mild sermon about the typical middle-class mentality. "We can spend recklessly if we decide to. Otherwise, we are cautious spenders," he says.
Starring Meenakshi Chaudhary as the male lead's love interest, the period financial thriller has music by GV Prakash Kumar. Nimish Ravi's cinematography looks unique, thanks to the colour tone experienced in the Teaser. Edited by Navin Nooli, the film's art direction is by Banglan.
