Smriti Irani, who is the Minister of Women and Child Development of India in the Modi government, was once a TV serial actress, writer and producer. In a recent interview, Irani revealed that she was offered a role in Aamir Khan's trend-setting film 'Dil Chahta Hai' in the early 2000s.
"I was told to attend the audition. I turned down the offer because I didn't want to do films. When I was offered lead roles in Bollywood films, I instead chose to get married and have a child," Irani said.
She also mentioned her involvement in the Telugu film 'Jai Bolo Telangana' was driven by humanitarian motives. "I even dyed my hair grey for the role. I took on that character to reach out to students on the brink of suicide due to the Telangana statehood issue, urging them to reconsider," the BJP leader added.
