Christopher Nolan’s next film is titled ‘The Odyssey’. A mythic action epic to be shot across different countries and regions around the globe, the film opens in theaters on July 17, 2026.

Homer’s ancient Greek epic poem The Odyssey is the inspiration. "Described as a mythic action epic that follows the tale of Odysseus and his 10-year journey home after the Trojan War, this one stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Lupita Nyong’o and Robert Pattinson," a report says.

Universal Studios, which produced Nolan's previous outing Oppenheimer, is back. "Unlike Oppenheimer, which Universal acquired through an open auction, Nolan's upcoming project has been secured directly by the studio," reports have said.

A bit about Nolan's previous movie, Oppenheimer. Released in 2023, it was an epic biographical drama film. The film was nominated for leading thirteen categories at 96th Academy Awards, and won leading seven, including Best Picture, Best Director (Nolan), Best Actor (Murphy), and Best Supporting Actor (Downey). It also won five Golden Globe Awards (including Best Motion Picture – Drama) and seven British Academy Film Awards (including Best Film).
