Caste issue! Radha Ravi says Aswini Dutt discriminated against him

Producer C Aswini Dutt is basking in the staggering success of 'Kalki 2898 AD'. At a time like this, he has been accused by veteran artist Radha Ravi of nursing a casteist mindset.

As per Radha Ravi, he was supposed to do a couple of films under Vyjayanthi Movies in the mid-1980s. Dutt was interested to cast him because he was seen as an acting talent of sorts. One of the films was to be directed by K Raghavendra Rao. After giving some cash in advance, Dutt inquired Radha Ravi about his caste. When the artist replied saying that he comes from the Balija Naidu caste, Dutt allegedly asked him to return the advance amount.

Nobody knows how true this incident is. Radha Ravi is known for sparking controversies and speaking out of turn. He has also failed to render justice to singer Chinmayi Sreepada, a victim of sexual harassment. Radha Ravi is a DMK puppet, many say.

Dutt's personal life:

Coming back to Dutt, two of his daughters have married out of caste. In an interview a few years ago, Dutt said that he was heartbroken for many days after the first daughter told him she was in love with someone outside their caste. "My youngest daughter, however, promised me she will marry a person of my choice," Dutt said in the interview.

Nag Ashwin, the director of 'Kalki 2898 AD', is not from Dutt's caste.
